Our Services.

Linkage Ag Solutions provides a variety of on-farm services.

Applications and Reporting

We can help apply for permits and grants, assist with compliance issues and help support your record keeping and reporting.

Permit Application

A confined feeding operation (CFO) owner requires a permit for a new (or expanding) operation. Permits are considered for approval by the Natural Resources Conservation Board (NRCB).

Permit support is available to help collect the information needed to illustrate how the application will meet the regulatory requirements outlined in the Agricultural Operation Practices Act (AOPA)

Agricultural Funding Grants

Monitoring grant programs ensures producers can take advantage of any available funding. An accurate and properly worded grant applications will help to minimize delays and missed opportunities.

Manure Record Keeping and Annual Reporting

Producers are required to keep manure application records.

Soil, water and manure sampling as part of a whole-farm record keeping practice is available.

Developing annual fertilizer recommendations and yield analysis will help ensure crop production is maximized and field activity is minimized

Construction Services and Material Testing

We can assist with supervision, soil and concrete testing, and contract management, to make sure your next project goes smoothly.

Construction Supervision

The supervision of a livestock facility construction project can be a time consuming and demanding process.

Support is available to supervise and inspect construction activities. Coordinating and communicating with the contractor will help ensure the facility meets the desired design standards.

Soil Hydraulic Conductivity Testing

A new (or expanding) confined feeding operation must provide information that illustrates the environmental requirements in the regulations are met.

Developing and coordinating a proper soils sampling and monitoring well plan will help ensure the engineering report address the environmental requirements.

Concrete (RCC) Testing

Material testing can help determine if the supplier/contractor meets the design specifications for compressive strength and thickness.

Contract management

The construction of a livestock facility often includes scheduling the activities of multiple contractors.  Proper and timely management of contractors can avoid delays and ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.

Technical advice is available for a wide range of agriculture related projects (roller compacted concrete, mortality and manure composting, livestock facility layout, soil fertility)

Compliance and Permit Issues

We can assist with compliance and permit issues associated with your livestock operation.

Compliance Issues

Producers may find themselves dealing with compliance issues identified by an Inspector from the Natural Resource Conservation Board (NRCB).

Information and support is available to respond to these issues. Strategizing, letter writing and information collection may be needed to address the NRCB’s concerns.

Permit Issues

Producers may (or may not) agree with an Approval Officer’s application decision and it is important to properly review the decision in a timely manner.

A request for permit review must be submitted within 10 working days from the permit being issued.

Even if an approval is granted, it is important to understand if the permit conditions are fair, appropriate and achievable.

Business Development

We can assist with financial management and training, along with investment and retirement planning.

Financial Training

A basic understanding of how money works is part of developing a retirement plan and investment strategy.

Employee financial training helps staff develop financial independence.

Group benefits and investment plans can be an important part of supporting and retaining staff

Investment and Retirement Planning

Key discussion topics can include: retirement needs, education savings plans, minimizing debt or buying a first home.

Having a closer look at the benefits and differences between:

  1. Registered Retirement Saving Plan (RRSP)
  2. Tax Free Savings Account (TFSA)
  3. Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP)
  4. Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP)
